Lotus has released the first images and info about its new Lotus Evora 2+2 GT back in July 2008 and now they have finally confirmed the production of the car. The officials announced that the car will be launched in June and be sold in the European market as a 2010 model. The starting price of the vehicle for the two-seater model is announced to be €50,412.
Just ahead of the launch of their new sport car Lotus released a set of images that reveal the exterior and interior features of the car. According to Lotus they will be releasing a special version of the car built in a limited run of just 450 cars. The special version will be called ‘Lotus Evora Launch Edition’ and will be available in either Ardent Red or British Racing Green. The edition will come with 2+2 seating, silver cast alloy wheels, an Alpine stereo, bi-xenon headlights and a reversing camera as standard.
The main features of the car include a 3.5L petrol V6 producing 276hp (206kW) and 252lb-ft (342Nm) of torque. With the zero to 100 km/h sprint taking place in just over 5 seconds with a top speed of over 260km/h. Official fuel economy figures for Europe are 19mpg (12.4L/100km) in the city and 36mpg (6.5L/100km) on the highway.
It is not yet known whether Lotus Evora will be launched in US, but some celebrities have expressed interest in the car.
