audiAudi has recently released two new engines options designed for the Audi A3 line-up: A3 and A3 Sportback. These two new engines are for those customers who are concerned about fuel efficiency, as they give customers more options.

Both engines are 1.6-liter four-cylinder TDI units. The first power unit is a 90 hp engine with a peak torque of 230 Nm, emitting a scant 118 grams of CO2 per km. It takes an 12.9 seconds for A3 with this engine to reach from 0 to 100 km/h, while the top speed is 180 km/h. Using only 4.5 liters of diesel per 100km, or 52.27 US mpg, you might be pleased with cleanness of this choice.

The second unit, on the other hand, is more powerful and more efficient. This four-cylinder engine is rated at 105 horsepower and uses just over 4 liters of diesel for every 100 km of driving. This translates to a spectacular 57.37 US mpg. Even the emissions of the unit are cleaner, dispensing only 109 g/km.
With the 105 hp unit, the Audi A3 gets a 0-100 km/h time of 11.4 seconds, on its way to a 194 km/h top speed.

The car is already available in Europe. The A3 1.6 TDi is priced 22,550 Euro for the 90hp version, while the 105hp version costs 23,550 Euros. Customers who choose the 5-door Sportback model will be charged an additional 900 Euros.
