BMW has introduced the 2010 model year two engines with an EU5 emission rating. The engines are designed for the coupe and two additional special edition versions for the three- and five-door hatchback models. The sales of the new 120i Coupé and 118d Coupé will begin coming September. The 120i Coupé is powered by a 2.0-litre four-pot motor that generates 125kW (170hp) and 210Nm of torque at 4,250rpm. It is equipped with a high precision direct injection, which helps the car accelerate from 0 – 100km/h in 7.8 seconds. Top speed of the coupe is 224km/h, while average fuel consumption is 6.6 liters per 100km. The overall C02 emissions rating is 153g/km.
The 2.0-litre turbo diesel unit will also make its debut in the Coupé. This is the same engine found in the 118d that was awarded the 2008 World Green Car of the Year award. It enhances 105kW (143hp) and peak torque of 300Nm between 1,750rpm and 2,500rpm. Average fuel consumption is 4.5 liters per 100km (62.8mpg), while the C02 emissions rating is 119g/km.
Special Lifestyle and Sport Edition models will also be available in September as the 1 Series lineup. The Lifestyle Edition features exclusive Marrakesh Brown Metallic paint, five-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels, chrome entry trim, a leather sports steering wheel and a few other , additional exterior components.
The Sports Edition comes as standard with the M Sports Package and M badges throughout the cabin; in the footrest, the sports steering wheel and the gear lever. It will be equipped with a sports suspension set-up, 17-inch alloy wheels in every model but the BMW 130i and BMW 123d which both come with Ferric Grey 18-inchers.
