Jaguar has announced that they are planning to release a special one off XK-R that will make its world debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend.
The new vehicle is called XK-R Goodwood Special and features a unique Lime Green exterior paint and XKR exterior graphics. The car is based on the facelifted 2010 which is equipped with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine producing 510HP and 625Nm of torque. The vehicle accelerates to 60mph (96km/h) from standstill in 4.6 seconds. The Goodwood Special XKR features a scheme with satin graphite detailing applied to the front grilles, headlights, door mirrors, window surrounds, rear spoiler, and bonnet louvers. Other unique touches include performance enhancements, a louder exhaust, 21-inch alloy wheels.
Jaguar will also present several historic vehicles at the festival including the 1957 Le Mans winning long-nose D-type, the first C-type to win Le Mans, and the stillborn XJ13 racer which never saw action due to the company’s financial instability.
The production value of the Goodwood Special XKR is not clear yet, but it is assumed that some of its performance parts are likely to be available in Jaguar dealers for the 2010 model year.
