2010-jaguar-xj-17Today Jaguar has finally unveiled its 2010 Jaguar XJ at the Saatchi Gallery in London. As expected, the new XJ’s has undergone some dramatic changes and become far more modern than the current car. The styling of the vehicle is radically different.

The most significant feature of the exterior of the vehicle is the panoramic glass roof that not only creates extra interior light but also gives a lower roofline. Jaguar will be available in both the standard and the long-wheel-base version. The XJ’s mechanical parts features aluminum construction, which make it very light compared to its competitors.

Interior of the XJ is all-new and features a unique, wrap-around dash, complete with plenty of wood and leather accents. A large LCD screen is front and center while rounded air vents give the XJ’s cabin an air of sportiness. Such features as a 1,200-watt Bowers & Wilkins sound system, hard drive-based audio and navigation systems and connectivity for external audio and video devices are available for customers as an option.

Customers will have to choose the 2010 XJ between three separate trim levels – XJ, Supercharged and Supersport. Each of the models will be available in long-wheelbase form. The engines include the 3.0-litre V6 diesel, the 385-horsepower naturally aspirated V8, the 470-hp 5.0-litre supercharged V8 and also a 510 horsepower 5.0-litre supercharged V8 unit. All XJ models will use a six-speed automatic transmission.
