Volvo‘s C70 Convertible has always been a ultra-stylish vehicle, and nor this two-door model has received a facelift for the 2010 model year. Volvo has recently released new details and information about the updated 2010 C70 convertible.
The new 2010 Volvo C70 is set for its debut at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show and comes with new features and engines, which are expected to be more powerful and cleaner. The facelifted C70 features dynamic styling is mainly inspired by the S60 Concept shown at the 2009 Detroit Show. The new C70 receives the S60′s sweeping headlights and chiseled hoodline, and a revised decklid out back.
The most important exterior update includes the all redesigned front end that features a bold grille, new headlights, and additional chrome detailing. As before, the vehicle is equipped with a three-piece steel roof which can be raised or lowered in approximately 30 seconds.
Changes in the interior of C70 include the redesigned instrument panel, which is now a wider and sleeker. The surface of the panel has a new good quality texture.
“We have carefully redesigned the front and rear of the car, said Fedde Talsma, Volvo’s chief exterior designer, “so they harmonize more with the larger Volvo models. We have also increased the exclusiveness of the interior materials and trim details to enhance the feeling of luxury.”
Volvo continues to offer the same engine line-up. Car buyers have a choice of three gasoline units, a 2.4 with 140HP, a 2.4i delivering 170HP and the T5 with 230HP, as well as two diesel engines, the 2.0D with 136HP and the D5 that makes 180HP.
The new Volvo C70 is designed to be the safest convertibles on the car market. According to Volvo, after the September debut in Germany, the first C70s will be available in showrooms and delivered to customers in early 2010.
