The Japanese manufacturer Mazda introduces two tuning ideas based on the 2010 Mazda3-based cars at the 2009 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas. The vehicles are built on the Mazda3 2.5-litre and the MazdaSpeed3, both of which are good basis for tuning purposes.
Both Mazda3 and MazdaSpeed3 get a Crystal White Pearl paint job with some faded gray graphics, reminiscent of the style first shown on the Mazda 787B that won Le Mans in 1991. Other exterior details, including the grille inserts, side mirrors, fog lamp bezels and the roof panel get black paint. The front headlamps also get a black treatment.
Both vehicles come equipped with 19×8-inch forged aluminum wheels with 225/40/19 Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires.
The Tri-Point Engineering has fitted the Mazda3 sedan with its turbo kit that features a rugged cast iron turbo manifold and high-efficiency Garrett GT2871R ball bearing turbo. Thanks to the kit the 2.5-liter MZR engine could produce 250 hp. The suspension system was also upgraded and now vehicle Mazda3 will have KW Suspension double-adjustable coil-overs and a Tri-Point adjustable rear stabiliser bar.
The MazdaSpeed3 only gained 15kW (20hp) on the standard issue car but was also fitted with KW coil-overs, four-piston Stoptech calipers and modified top mounts on the front struts amongst others.
